Each of these categories can help build awareness, interest and engagement with your followers differently. There is no right and wrong, and you should test content types for each category to see what works best for your audience and brand.
Which Content Pillars Should I Use For August?
August is quite a chilled month for sales activity, considering most families are off for the school summer holidays. However, you may find this month your busiest if you're a tourist attraction, family fun store, or entertainment brand.
Some companies that provide stationary or back-to-school gear will also find August a hectic month.
Use it as a month to nurture, boost awareness and make connections for those who fall out of these categories and those who struggle with sales in August.
With that being said, here are my recommended content pillars for brands of all types:
1) Promotional
Back to school deals should ramp up at the end of August 2022, ready for September.
Remember the AIDA technique when creating content or writing captions.

Your audience is most likely spending time with their families or on holiday, travelling or exploring amazing places, making it the perfect time to ask for user-generated content.
Run a competition asking audiences to share a photo of themselves wearing your product or using your service and tag you.
Repost all this content for maximum exposure, engagement and community connection.
3) Educational
For months where you may find yourself quieter than usual, use it to create amazing new educational and impactful content. Use the time to gain industry authority and be the go-to place for your target market.
For example, if you are an online fashion store, create content around style guides, sustainability or how to repurpose fashion garments.
If you're a marketing agency, share helpful guides, free resources, or tips about your service.
